How to set your availability in Calendon

3 min read

Every new Calendon account comes with a default availability schedule already set up: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. You can use that as a starting point or build your own from scratch. This guide walks you through how to set your availability in Calendon so guests only see times you are actually open to bookings.

If you have not created your account yet, start here — it takes two minutes.

1. Go to Availability

In the left sidebar, look for the Scheduling group. Click Availability to open the availability page.

2. Create a new schedule

Click the New Schedule button in the top right corner. A dialog will appear asking you to name the schedule.

Pick a name that describes when you are available — for example "Weekdays" or "Consulting hours" — then click Save.

What is draft mode?

The schedule is created but not usable yet. The hours you set here are not your work schedule in the traditional sense — they are the windows when you are open to receive bookings. Think of it as telling Calendon: "this is when I am available for meetings."

  • The schedule starts in draft mode
  • It will not work until you add at least one time slot
  • Once you save your hours it becomes active

3. Add your booking hours for each day

Each day has two controls:

  • Cross button (on the right): removes that day from your schedule entirely
  • + button: adds a time slot to that day

You can add as many slots per day as you need. For example, to block off a midday break:

  • 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM
  • 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM

Click + a second time to add the afternoon slot alongside the morning one.

4. Override specific dates (optional)

Find the Date-specific hours section on the page and click Add override. Then:

  • Pick the date you want to change
  • Set new hours for that day, or mark it as fully unavailable
  • Click save

The override takes priority over your regular schedule on that date only. Your other days are not affected.

Click Save changes when you are done. The schedule does nothing on its own — you need to attach it to an event:

  • New event: when creating an event type in Calendon, select this schedule from the availability settings
  • Existing event: open the event, switch the schedule to this one, and save. All upcoming bookings for that event will reflect your new hours automatically

Calendon will now only show guests times that fall within your set hours.

Frequently asked questions

Can I have more than one availability schedule? Yes. You can create as many schedules as you need and assign a different one to each event type. This is useful if you offer different services at different times.

Does changing a schedule affect existing bookings? No. Bookings already confirmed are not changed. The new hours apply to future booking slots only.

What happens if I do not link a schedule to an event? The event will use the default schedule on your account. You can always change it at any time from the event settings.

Can I set different hours for different time zones? Calendon handles time zone conversion automatically. Set your hours in your local time zone and guests will see them converted to their own.
